As always, we expect to see Apple unveil their newest iPhone in September, but with the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE having come out this year, are we expecting something significantly life changing from the 7 model? Rumors include a much faster processor chip, a water proof design and Apple are said to be introducing a new D-jack headphone slot. Yes that’s right, a new design for headphones will be required. The iPhone 7 is rumored to have an updated surface ‘touch sensitive’ home button built into the screen, this would help with waterproofing the device…Well done Apple! The model is also rumored to be increasing memory space, scrapping the 64GB storage to introduce 256GB to accompany the 32GB and 128GB. The device also introduces a bigger CMOS camera to improve photo quality and to top it all off the phone will be available in ‘Space Black’, a similar color to the popular ‘Graphite Black’ Apple abandoned after the iPhone 5s. These areonly rumors but either way, we’re expecting great things from the tech giants as we count down to the release date.

5.       iPhone 8

The iPhone 7 is still yet to be released, however predictions can be made on what to expect from the next model expected in 2017/18, especially as it is rumored Apple are skipping a 7S model. With the way smartphones are heading, there are some pretty amazing thoughts running through the minds of manufacturers, so it’s no wonder thatthat the iPhone 8 is speculated to not only sport an edge to edge OLED screen, completely eliminating the home button, but will also feature a glass body. The device is also rumored to embrace a wireless charging ability and include biometric features such as iris and facial recognition.

6.      Google’s Project Ara

Known only as Project Ara, Google is planning on introducing their very first modular phone. Let’s go back to your younger days for a second, playing with Lego to make up a building or a space ship or a castle, the modular phone is essentially the same thing. The user has the power to build their own phone out of the pieces they want. Each phone comes with a central module board in which there are 6 flexible easy-swapping modules. The benefits being that you could add extra memory to your phone, upgrade the camera to have more features or just build up your storage. The modules are said to be durable and the device itself allows for upgrades in future years as the slots themselves can be updated rather than the whole phone.

7.       Samsung Galaxy X

As Samsung search for new innovative ways to keep their smartphone sector successful, the South Korean giant are rumored to be manufacturing a completely foldable phone.
